Juvéderm® Volbella with Lidocaine is a sterile, apyrogenic, viscoelastic gel implant based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. The device utilizes advanced Vycross™ technology, which—by optimizing the ratio of short- and long-chain hyaluronic acid molecules—provides high cohesivity, low hygroscopicity (reduced risk of edema), and seamless integration with soft tissue. The preparation contains lidocaine hydrochloride to reduce pain and discomfort during the invasive procedure.
Indications and Intended Use
The device is intended for administration via injection by authorized medical personnel to:
Provide mechanical enhancement of the vermillion border volume and improve its anatomical definition.
Model the lip contour and correct the vermillion borders.
Correct superficial perioral wrinkles (e.g., vertical lip lines, marionette lines).
Provide mechanical elevation of the oral commissures (mouth corners) by supplementing tissue deficits.
Fill volumetric deficiencies in delicate facial areas, including the infraorbital region (e.g., tear troughs).

Technical Parameters and Mechanism of Action
Cross-linked sodium hyaluronate at a concentration of 15 mg/ml acts as a stable, plastic filling implant within the extracellular space. The low concentration of hyaluronic acid combined with a high degree of cross-linking (Vycross™) results in a gel with low swelling pressure, minimizing the visibility of the implant under thin skin. The inclusion of lidocaine hydrochloride (3 mg/ml) provides a local anesthetic effect. The estimated duration of the preparation is up to 12 months, depending on the location, injection technique, and the patient's individual physiological characteristics.
