Juvéderm® Ultra 4 is a sterile, apyrogenic, viscoelastic gel implant based on highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. It utilizes Hylacross™ technology, characterized by a dense gel structure with high cohesivity and resistance to degradation. The preparation contains lidocaine hydrochloride, which acts as an ancillary substance to alleviate pain during the invasive procedure.
Indications and Intended Use
The device is intended for administration via deep injection to:
-
Provide mechanical correction of deep wrinkles, furrows, and cutaneous folds.
-
Restore and enhance soft tissue volume (volumetry of the cheekbones and cheeks).
-
Model and correct the shape and volume of the vermillion border (lips).
-
Improve facial contours in areas requiring robust mechanical support.
Treatment Areas
-
Mid-face (cheekbones, cheeks).
-
Lower face (nasolabial folds, marionette lines, chin).
-
Vermillion border (lips).
Technical Parameters and Mechanism of Action
Cross-linked sodium hyaluronate at a concentration of 24 mg/ml acts as a high-density mechanical volumetric implant, providing stable filling of the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue. The inclusion of lidocaine hydrochloride (0.3%) provides a local anesthetic effect. Due to its degree of cross-linking, the preparation exhibits high resistance to the dynamic forces of the face. The duration of the effect depends on individual patient characteristics, injection technique, and the area of administration.
