RESTYLANE® Defyne Lidocaine is a sterile, biodegradable, viscoelastic gel implant based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. The device utilizes OBT™ (Optimal Balance Technology, also known as XpresHAn Technology™), which provides an optimal balance between tissue-lifting capacity and high flexibility. This allows the preparation to integrate into the tissue, providing mechanical support to the skin in areas of high mimetic activity.
Indications and Intended Use The device is intended for injection to:
-
Provide mechanical correction of deep wrinkles and cutaneous folds (e.g., nasolabial folds, marionette lines).
-
Restore lost soft tissue volume in the face.
-
Improve structural skin tension in areas subject to dynamic mimetic movements.
Treatment Areas
-
Mid and lower facial areas (nasolabial folds, mentolabial folds).
-
Areas requiring the correction of deep tissue deficiencies.
Technical Parameters and Mechanism of Action Cross-linked sodium hyaluronate at a concentration of 20 mg/ml acts as a mechanical filling implant. Its cross-linked structure provides durable support for the deep layers of the skin. OBT™ technology results in a high-expressivity gel, minimizing the risk of unnatural tissue rigidity during facial expressions. The inclusion of lidocaine hydrochloride (3 mg/ml) provides a local anesthetic effect. The estimated duration of the preparation ranges from 6 to 9 months; the final duration depends on the injection depth, technique, and the patient's individual metabolic rate.
