JUVÉDERM® Volux is a sterile, pyrogen-free gel implant based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid, developed using VYCROSS technology. This formula is based on optimizing the ratio of low- and high-molecular-weight ha chains, resulting in a high degree of cross-linking and a strongly bound, dense extracellular matrix. The device features the highest elastic modulus (G') in the Juvéderm line, making it a dedicated tool for bone structure projection and volumetric reconstruction of the lower face.
Mechanism of Action
-
volumetric reconstruction (ha 25 mg/ml): high molecular mass and matrix density allow for the mechanical lifting of soft tissues and the creation of a stable scaffold for facial structures
-
vycross technology: provides high gel cohesivity, which translates to the implant's resistance to shear forces and tissue pressure, ensuring the durability of the contouring effect
-
treatment comfort modulation: the inclusion of lidocaine hydrochloride (0.3%) reduces patient pain during injection and in the initial post-treatment phase
-
tissue integration: despite its high density, the preparation exhibits optimal biocompatibility, integrating with the tissue matrix without inducing a chronic immune response
Indications and Intended Use
The device is intended for subcutaneous or supraperiosteal administration by authorized medical personnel for:
-
modeling and contouring of the jawline area: definition of the jawline and the mandibular angle
-
chin projection and shaping: correction of a receding chin and restoration of facial proportions
-
restoration of lost volume: filling deep tissue deficits that require strong mechanical support
-
facial profiling: creating distinct projection points in bony areas
Contraindications and Safety
-
strict prohibition of intravascular administration: intravascular injection may lead to embolization, vascular occlusion, ischemia, or tissue infarction
-
anatomical restrictions: do not inject into the periorbital area (eyelids, under-eye area, crow's feet) or the glabella
-
hypersensitivity and allergies: do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, lidocaine, or amide-type local anesthetics
-
medical conditions: contraindicated for individuals with untreated epilepsy, porphyria, or a tendency to develop hypertrophic scars
-
inflammatory states: do not administer in areas affected by infection or an active inflammatory process (e.g., acne, herpes)
-
treatment interactions: do not use in direct combination with laser therapy, deep chemical peeling, or dermabrasion (in the case of superficial peels, use caution if they induce a strong inflammatory response)
-
high-risk groups: do not use in children, pregnant women, or breastfeeding women
